This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Every child deserves the opportunity to be given the materials to be successful regardless of how much their parents make or in what area they are growing up in. Our county is one of the poorest counties in Texas and most of our students live in a low economic household. Despite all of these challenges, our students come in ready to learn, and with a positive attitude. They love to be creative and show off their talents. They just need the right materials to make sure they are as successful as they can be.

My Project

Although this pandemic has hit our school systems, my students still love to perform and sing music. My choir students at JDES are committed to their choir program and stay online for extra hours out of the school day to practice and get better every day.

Choir students at our school want a chance to be able to showcase their singing abilities.

If this project is able to be funded students will have the opportunity to record themselves singing using the right equipment. Most of my students do not have a proper microphone to pick up their voices, with these headsets students should have no problem recording themselves.
