My students need 14 more ukuleles to complete a class set. This will allow them to be 100% engaged in music class instead of sharing an instrument.

My Students

My students are creative, inspiring and passionate about music! They come into music class ready for engaging, hands-on learning! They enjoy singing, dancing and creating music. My students especially love to create music on the xylophones and drums. Our school is located in a small town in north Texas. We are a Title 1 school with most of our students on free or reduced lunches. My students are creative and passionate and inspire me to give my best every single day.

My Project

My students were excited to receive 16 ukuleles earlier in the school year. I have about 30 students in each music class, so the students had a partner and would take turns playing the ukulele. They quickly progressed through the beginnig stages of basic playing and chord strumming. Now these students are ready for less sharing and more playing! Having a class set of ukuleles would ensure that every student is engaged in music class 100% of the time. We would like to use these ukuleles in grade-level school performances and community events. These students are ready to advance in their music learning!
