Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are hard working second graders who come to class to learn as much as they can everyday. Our goal is 100% learning 100% of the time!
Our community is not a wealthy one.
Every student who attends our school receives free breakfast and lunch. Many of our parents cannot afford basic school supplies.
We have an opportunity to give students a choice in the classroom; teachers will focus on providing basic supplies, paired with personalized instruction, to meet our scholars’ educational needs.
My Project
The assortment of colorful Papermate Profile Retractable pens, Crayola 240 count class pack of colored pencils, Post-it correction tape, and packs of Crayola large size specialty crayons -for my special needs students -are for my students’ writing & illustration stations. The sets of AVERY Big Tab dividers will help to organize their writing binders.
The variety of the writing supplies will provide individuals a fun choice of materials to use every day.
My goal is for my second graders to feel comfortable writing—while having a sense of ownership when regarding the tools and styles they select. Choice is very important in our classroom. Once this project is funded, every scholar will choose what tools they write with and how they arrange their work.
The organizational tools and larger products will aid our special needs scholars who require a little extra help with their fine motor skills.
