Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are creative, take initiative in their own learning, and are curious about the world! They love hands-on, engaging projects that challenge them to think outside of the box in not only their solutions, but the way they communicate the information that they just explored. They are enthusiastic learners and are full of questions.
Many students in my classroom have no access to technology at home, and our school provides them with opportunities to gain these vital 21st-century skills.
Our school is set in urban Los Angeles. Many students speak two or more languages and are the children of immigrant parents. They have a strong work ethic and work diligently to make their future a success.
Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning. The third-grade team at my school incorporates a variety of learning styles, differentiated lesson planning, and alternative seating and learning opportunities to ensure that each student's needs are met. We also use computational thinking strategies in our lessons to get them to think. They are an amazing group of kids, and I can't wait to help them grow as citizens of the world. They are our future!
My Project
My students need a new storage unit to store their books and materials. I have been trying to move to a flexible seating classroom. I have the seats and desks, but I do not have a place for their books. My classroom feels cluttered and is not safe. We need a cubby system with individual slots for everyone to have their own space. Students need a place to put materials away when we are not using them. They also need a space for their classroom materials.
Having individual cubbies is essential in a flexible third grade classroom.
Please help me get these individualized cubbies for my students. Being organized will help my students be more efficient in finding their materials and create a safer workspace.
