My Students
I work at a low-income school with students from incredibly diverse backgrounds. Many of them work after school jobs to help support their family. A lot of them are working hard to learn English, having recently moved from countries that speak Spanish, Arabic, Russian, and many more.
Despite the challenges that they face, I am impressed every day by their work ethic and the sense of community they bring.
They are always willing to help each other out and striving to make sure that everyone can succeed. I try my best every day to make my content accessible to all of my students.
My Project
Teaching at a low income school means that every day I get to interact with some of the most amazing, inspiring, hard working teenagers on the planet! But it also unfortunately means that a lot of those awesome students can't afford the basic supplies needed to succeed in school.
Not having the most basic supplies makes it difficult for students to do their best in school.
For example, a simple three ring binder makes the difference between a disorganized, crumped pile of papers pulled out of a backpack where assignments often get lost and a nicely organized, easy to use and keep track of binder.
Please help me provide my well deserving students with these supplies so they can start the year off strong and reach their full potential!
