My Project
I teach autistic students in an 8:1:2 classroom setting and I would like to enhance their learning experience by adding more hands-on learning materials.
We are using the Creative Curriculum and will be exploring Simple Machines.
When we have these materials they will discover what and how these simple machines operate.
My goal is to use these materials to add to our block play area. These machines incorporate handy contraptions like pulleys, wedges and screws. My students will get hands-on experience with cause and effect as they raise and lower objects on an elevator, and move blocks on a conveyor belt. They will also have the opportunity to explore ramps and learn about force.
