This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am requesting gliding floor protectors for desk chairs for the K-2nd students at our school. The students' chairs are heavy and the metal scrapes against the floor when the chairs are moved. They squeak and grind like "fingernails on a chalkboard" and are very unsettling. These protective pads would greatly benefit our classroom environment and our student's ability to stay focused and on task.
The goal of the gliding floor protectors for student chairs is to help reduce noise and distractions made by chairs when moving them across the classroom or just pushing the chair under the desk.
This will help improve the overall classroom environment for the students by reducing distractions and creating a calm learning environment.
Additionally, our chairs are extremely heavy for a five to seven-year-old and the chair glides will make it easier for students to move their chairs around the classroom for small group and collaborative group instruction. Another benefit of these chair glides is that they can help protect against scratches and keep the classroom floor clean.
