My Project
Silent sustained reading (SSR) plays a pivotal role in our Reading English Language Arts (RELA) curriculum within my district. Research consistently indicates that students who engage in daily independent reading of self-selected texts experience notable advancements in their reading proficiency over time.
While the concept is sound in theory, the effectiveness of SSR can be compromised when students lack access to compelling and engaging titles.
Because of this, it becomes imperative for educators to curate a diverse collection of high-interest books, thereby ensuring that students make the most of their SSR time. While I am able to provide some books for my students, I am unable to offer a sufficiently varied selection.
I kindly request your support in contributing these sought-after, high-interest titles to our classroom library. Your assistance in enhancing our literary resources would greatly benefit my students' reading experiences and overall academic development.
