This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a teacher at a junior high where I teach American Sign Language.

Having these games and these flashcards will help my students with their ability to sign and communicate with each other.

Fluency is important in sign, so having plenty of engaging activities that provide practice is helpful. Skill and drill is not as engaging, making the learning less meaningful, less retainable and not as easily committed to their memory.

Having the standing rolling podiums will allow for my students to be able to spread around the room and the commons area around my room to play the games, work together in small groups and collaborate on their acquisition of sign language.

Help me give my students plenty of ways and opportunities to practice their new language, American Sign Language!
