This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
This is a bright and active group of five and six year-olds. They love to create and tell stories. They are mastering new vocabulary words as fast as I can introduce them. They are quickly learning to work together, which is a vital skill in our world. My children work in small groups and independently throughout the day.
We grow in all areas by practicing and playing together.
Writing throughout the day in science, social studies, math and even in art helps us in so many ways. We get noisy, but learn so much together. We need supplies to increase focus on our skills. There is so much to learn.
My Project
These cool alphabet puzzles will help us build letter, sound, word connections. They will support us in phonics and writing.
These sight word stampers will let us practice words in isolation, which is just the beginning.
We will pick our word, stamp it, trace it in any color we want then we play!
With these linking blocks or monkeys, we will build the word. This will begin our day in morning tub work. The best part will be when we then read independently and find those same sight words! The books included in this project have a controlled vocabulary. This is vital for beginning readers, like us.
