My Project

I'm thrilled to share our upcoming holiday project: "Sight Word Sparkle Bracelets & Jars of Joy!" This project combines creativity, learning, and giving, and we are asking for your support to make it a memorable experience for our first graders.

For the Sight Word Bracelets, we will be using letter beads and colorful elastic bands.

Each child will create personalized bracelets featuring the sight words they have been mastering in class. These materials are crucial as they help make learning hands-on and interactive, allowing the children to manipulate the beads to spell words, strengthening both their fine motor skills and sight word recognition. This fun activity will also foster a sense of pride as they gift these bracelets to their classmates, enhancing their confidence and excitement about learning.

In addition to the bracelets, we will be creating Cookie Mix Jars for parents. For this, we will need jars, measuring cups, and various dry ingredients like flour, sugar, and chocolate chips. These items are essential for teaching our students about measurements, fractions, and sequencing in a real-world context. By carefully measuring and layering the ingredients, they will apply math concepts in a meaningful and engaging way.

Our goals for this project are to strengthen our students’ literacy and math skills while fostering creativity and the joy of giving. By engaging them in these activities, we aim to create a rich learning experience that combines reading, math, and social skills, all wrapped up in the spirit of the holidays.

My students are a wonderful group of learners who thrive when they are engaged in hands-on activities.
