Sight Word Ready

Help me give my students a fun way to learn sight words in class with Play-Doh and finger lights.

My Project

Sight words are such an important part of the kindergarten curriculum. We learn two to three sight words every week, all year long.

Students that know their sight words tend to do better at reading in kindergarten.

We play "flashlight Friday" in class to help review our sight words. Each student gets a small fingertip flash light, we turn off the lights, and spell our sight words on our desks. Sadly these little flash lights don't last forever and I am running low.

As I test my students, I like to use the flair pens because they come in a variety of colors. When a student can see, by color, how many words they have learned each week, their confidence goes through the roof!
