My students need sight word mastery to grow as readers. They need hands-on practice with letters, sounds and basic sight words. With these magnetic boards and sight words centers, my students will also work in teams.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
This is a bright and active group of five- and six-year-old children. They love to create and tell stories. They love to read and be read to. They are quickly learning to work together which is a vital skill in our world. My children work in small groups and independently throughout the day.
We grow in all areas by practicing and playing together.
Writing throughout the day in science, social studies, math, and even in art helps us in so many ways. We get noisy, but we learn so much together. We need supplies to grow as readers, writers and illustrators. We need to show the colors of our ideas. There is so much to learn.
My Project
Kindergarten students need to practice basic sight words in a variety of ways several times to master them. They need these tools to build the words, read them together and even put them into sentences. Kindergarten needs to be active and these supplies will have my students in a variety of locations.
My students need to improve their fine motor skills as well.
With these linking snowflakes and linking shapes, my students will have additional reasons to focus on these skills. My students will work together to create buildings, vehicles and stations. They will practice patterns, too. They will develop great vocabularies as they have fun.
