Help me give my students access to succeed during this pandemic. Sight-reading accounts allow students to study sight reading music on their own terms and counts for a weekly homework grade.

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Many of my students end up auditioning for some of Manhattan's elite performing arts high schools. Even if they don't, they come away from music with an appreciation for the art and an ability to sing to their own kids some day. My singers live in New York and learn to read, sing and appreciate music. They're students who crave a safe, musical environment to thrive!
These young musicians' faces beam when they have music class since many families lack the funding for private music lessons.
My students work diligently to increase their musical aptitudes and reading music is essential to their progress in my class. Each year, they're increasing their musicality and their ability to read music.
My Project
The main project in this submission is to give student accounts to SightReading Factory, one account for each of my sixth, seventh and eighth graders this year. This is an online site/application that helps students sight-reading music better. About 150 students will benefit in total from getting access to sightreadingfactory.com this year.
Students will be able to practice and hone their increasingly difficult sight-reading skills throughout the next year.
Of course they'll be quizzed on it and get participation points as well. This will help them prepare for concerts, solo and ensemble festivals, NYSSMA Major festivals, summer arts opportunities and continue to improve their leadership among my choruses since they can sightread the music at a higher level.
