My Project
I am continually amazed by the selflessness, artistic skills and imagination of my theatre students. They are only limited in what they can accomplish in my classes by the aged "hand-me-down" equipment we have received in years past. Most of my student don't feel comfortable relying on our two current decade-plus old sewing machines that constantly have issues with even the most basic stitches and fabrics. As a self-funded program (we receive ZERO dollars from the district or state) the lack of reliable equipment keeps my students from achieving the level of success they deserve when they put so much effort into each project and production. The resources I've selected will enable students to put together, repair and alter costumes in a timely and reliable manner. It will also help them learn valuable skills that will last their whole lives.
By donating to our theatre program, you will be helping to improve the technical and life skills of my students - ultimately your donations will enable them to enhance their creativity, help them bring their dreams to life and learn to reach for the stars.
Students will be able to simply focus on the creative process and academic material at hand, not whether their equipment is going to work or not. Additionally, in today’s hugely competitive job marketplace, it is important to get the best possible education at every level. Being able to use current, quality equipment, will not only help them increase their knowledge, ability, self-confidence, but also their desire to learn and attempt new, more challenging opportunities, both now and in the future!
