Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work at a mid to low social economic school, in a community where parents work many hours to provide for their children. Some of these students don't see their parents that much, during the week. Because of this, these kids are independent, and try to be self sufficient. Some of them don't get to experience a normal childhood and age faster mentally than they do physically. My students are sweet, caring, and hard working; my students also appreciate the little that they have in the classroom. I am a product of this community since I teach at the same elementary school that I went as a child, and I am proud to say that the students at this school push me to be a better teacher and person everyday and to appreciate the things we do get to work with.
My Project
Being in a Math and Science Classroom, Students are constantly up and moving. Students need some kind of Space that can move with them, and that can manage all of their belongings. These book boxes will allow students to maintain an organized work area where they wouldn't have to worry about looking for their materials in places that they were the day before.
One of the greatest ways to be successful in life is by being organized, and by having reliable tools that will be durable when working on a task.
The biggest part on why these book boxes are needed is because also they are more durable. Having 20 third graders in a room can lead to accidents happening; and with cardboard, or cheap plastic boxes, it is very easy for them to be destroyed. Especially, once two notebooks and a science text book live in said book boxes. These book boxes are made of a hard plastic that will keep them from breaking if they just so happen to fall of a desk, dropped, or even been stepped on. Please help my students become successful organized workers, with the tools they need to tackle Math and Science task by donating to this wonderful project.
