Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Every day, I sit with kids from different countries, as we try to give them the best learning experience, all while they are adapting to their surroundings, and learning a new language.
My hope is that they feel that their efforts are recognized and rewarded, and that they have all the resources they need to feel educated and successful.
Copies of "The Giver" in Spanish will help them follow along the story with their class, allowing them to stay on track with their peers and be a part of discussions surrounding the curriculum.
The Bluetooth Keyboards and Mice will make for an easier time writing important essays on their school-issued iPads!
The class headphones set will replace an older set we can no longer use. I hope that with this new set, They may take their ESL assessments with working materials that will not distract them from demonstrating the progress that they have made.
My students feel special via a reward system. This is why I requested a Loteria game set, to play for occasions in which they have earned some free time, as well as prizes. I would also love to be able to supply them with mechanical pencils for convenience and preparation.
These kids are some of the hardest workers I know, and deserve everything they need to be successful. I feel blessed to be their teacher, and I am confident that they will continue to grow and learn with the tools they have been given!
