My Project
I've been a special education teacher for 11 years and it is my 2nd year teaching 8th-grade SDC. Developing their full potential is my goal for my students with special needs. This year I have 15 wonderful students who are eager to learn new things. All of my students will be in high school next school year and most of them are creative and really an artist. They will soon select their electives in high school and they might look for an elective that is connected to this project. The camera and other items like printer ink, memory card, photo printer, and photo paper are the essential materials for my project. The photos and projects students create throughout the process can be compiled into portfolios that showcase their work. These portfolios could be useful for future academic applications, internships, or even professional jobs in photography or related fields. The goal of "Shutter Stories: Framing the World Around Us" is to enable students to develop essential skills in photography, storytelling, and visual communication, while fostering their creativity and critical thinking. This project not only enhances technical abilities in photography and photo editing but also encourages students to use their images to express ideas, evoke emotions, and communicate complex concepts to an audience. They take photos that illustrate the theme and capture different perspectives. Students then edit the photos and create a photojournalistic story with captions explaining the images. The final project could be presented in a digital slideshow or printed as a photo book. This will showcase their talent and knowledge in photography and writing.
