Help me give my students a shredder to learn the importance of recycling, reuse, and re-purpose while saving our landfill.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Koos's classroom raised $174

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My studious 2nd-grade scholars are currently attending school in a hybrid model. My students are both English Language Learners and students whose first language is English, they show up eager to learn each day. They enjoy reading diverse books and participating in hands-on STEM activities.
Teaching the youth of today is very exciting…Soon, the youth will be our leaders of tomorrow.
I enjoy teaching them things that will make them successful in the future. My students come from a hard-hit economic community but rise to the challenges put before them each day.
My Project
I will teach my students about the importance of recycling paper and creating less waste in our landfills. I will teach my students about the multiple usages for recycled paper and why we should shred paper. and reuse it.
We will make seed neat pods for our Mother's Day project.
We will do this by placing seed in to recycled paper and forming a pot that we will grow and give to their mothers for Mother's Day.
We will also give our shredded paper to another teacher in our school to be used as bedding for the chicks that she will be hatching in the spring. Our class can be part of this wonderful experience of watching the chicks hatch using our recycled paper.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
