Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our students are from a vibrant region in the state of Florida that takes pride in its rich, Latino cultural heritage. Because of this, our population is made up of many English Language Learners. It is up to us to make sure they get the best education they deserve. My students are young, ambitious and curious. They work together as a team to achieve common goals. They are supportive of their classmates and celebrate the successes of their peers. They are a hardworking group of students who display excitement and enthusiasm toward learning.
Our philosophy is: If you can believe it, you can achieve it!
Our school is a Title I Renaissance school. The majority of our students are from low-income families, which is reflected by our 91% free or reduced-price lunch status. Although my kids face socioeconomic challenges, they come to school every day willing to learn. My greatest satisfaction is when I see students achieve at their highest potential because we believed in them and now I am asking for you to believe in them by supporting this project.
My Project
I am writing this project because we are in need of copy paper to make copies of learning materials, IEP's, newsletters, and important information that needs to go home for parents. We also are in need of a new shredder. Our current shredder does not work anymore. I am always printing documents, resources, taking reports from students regarding private situations or being provided confidential information on paper. I want to ensure that I can get rid of these documents in a safe and secure manner. It is important that I am able to provide this security. Having a paper shredder guarantees that when I dispose of the paperwork, of the forms, of the notes from students or parents communicating their private information - I can do so without putting them at risk. Thank you for supporting our classroom.
