My Project
Our classroom is home to three collaborative classes that house a wide spectrum of learning needs and abilities. I teach 6th grade math and one of the biggest hurdles is getting students to show their work. Providing dry erase tables will encourage students to work out problems and collaborate with their peers on problems.
Our class is also limited on size, so having tables will increase the ability to move around the room and work with small groups.
The kidney tables will also facilitate meaningful, rich conversation and small group time with all teachers and support staff. Our classroom has two teachers for all class periods, and having two small group tables will completely change the game and allow us to service ALL students. We want to create a functional space for the most productive learning environment, that is organized and functional for all types of learners.
