Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Every student who enters my classroom is special. I work in a Title I public school where all students receive free breakfast and lunch each day. My students come from a variety of backgrounds. However, when they arrive at school each day, they know they are loved and valued. They also know that we believe in them and that high expectations are for everyone!

Relationships with students are key to a successful classroom.

I want to help my students realize that they can accomplish their dreams no matter their background.

My Project

This year, Title I made it possible for me to have a class set of iPads. Right away, the way I presented materials to my students and the way I was able to assess their performance began to change.

With the use of iPads, I can see what my students are working on and give individualized feedback almost immediately.

Students are so engaged in their work. An Apple TV would allow me to project my students' work from the iPad to the Smartboard. Students would be able to more easily collaborate with each other, and I would be able to show students my iPad as well. Your donation to this project will have a lasting impact on my students this year and for years to come as we continue to grow in the use of technology in the classroom.
