This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach 35 middle to low income kindergartners math and science. I am always encouraged to see their eager faces as we try a new skill, or simply count to one hundred. I want to keep them smiling from home during this era of Corona Virus remote learning! I need supplies to reach that goal.
My Project
As a math teacher it is vital for students to show their work during a lesson so I can praise or correct as needed. In this era of home learning I have struggled to teach lessons to students in homes where supplies are limited. Parents are unsure of or simply unable to make the necessary arrangements to get much needed supplies to be successful in math. I want my students to be able to have whiteboards, markers and erasers so they have a way to show their work. It will also be a way of making home learning a little more normal and fun as we often used white boards in our classroom.
