This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My school is made up of a very diverse population. As a Title 1 school, many of the children that I have worked with face hardships at a very young age. After 3 years of teaching, I have seen the hunger that all of my students have for learning despite these hardships. They always strive to learn with what they have and that's what makes every single one of them very special! Their passion for learning is restless and admirable. For that, they deserve to have all the materials they need to empower their minds through their education.
My Project
With the first day of school around the corner and with my school adopting virtual learning, this back to school is going to be interesting and challenging for both my students and I. Aside from the craziness we are experiencing, I want to ensure that the transition to virtual learning is a smooth one and that my students have all the materials they need at home to thrive in their learning. The whiteboards and dry erase markers will be used by each one of my students from home where they can show what they know and remain engaged as we adapt to virtual learning.
