Help me give my students the gift of art. I try to incorporate art into my lesson plans. I feel that some students understand information better when they can use their hands to show what they know.

My Project
The items I am requestiong will be used to create art projects that are based on our curriculum. For example, I will ask students to use the paints and brushes to create paintings of our stories from our reading to show that they understand what the story is about and what the main idea of the text is. They can also create examples of scientific ideas using modeling clay, paint, feathers, and other art supplies to create models of scientific ideas such as a habitat or a model of a plant life cycle.
My goal for this project is to help students to have a deeper understanding of content accross all modalities.
I am hoping that students will be able to create a new level of understanding and be able to store the information for later study by using a hands on approach to learning through art.
I have an amazing group of 4th graders this year. Most of them love to learn and especially love all forms of art. They would love the chance to use art to show what they know about any subject, but most of all, they would love to show what they know about science using any type of art and supplies that they can.
