My Project

Many of our students face daily barriers that affect their ability to attend school regularly and stay engaged. Chronic absenteeism and behavior concerns often stem from a lack of access to resources, mental health challenges, and limited motivation due to difficult life circumstances.

Our students need more than consequences; they need connection, engagement, and encouragement.

This project will support our school-wide attendance initiative and behavior improvement plan by providing meaningful, high-interest incentives that students may otherwise never have access to. Items like tablets, personal headphones or earbuds, and Stanley cups are not just rewards; they are tools for learning, self-regulation, and belonging.

When students feel motivated, equipped, and valued, they are more likely to show up every day and make positive choices. My students are middle school learners in grades 6–8 in Kanawha County. Many come from low-income households and face barriers such as: Limited access to technology at home,

Lack of personal learning tools, Economic hardship, Transportation and attendance barriers, Mental health and behavior challenges.

Despite these obstacles, our students are creative, resilient, and eager to succeed. They respond positively to recognition and meaningful rewards that show them their effort matters. Your support will help our Wolfpack students show up, stay engaged, and feel proud of their success. Together, we can build a school culture where attendance matters, positive behavior is recognized, and every student has the tools they need to thrive.
