My Students
I teach in a Pre K-8 building. There are on all different academic levels. Some are 2-3 years behind grade level, but work hard to improve in subject areas. Some are on grade level but want to do better, while others are above grade level and strive to get on the honor roll. Having an incentive to reach your goal causes students to work harder. My students have the ability to achieve great things but sometimes need that extra push.
Not only will kids strive to do better, but when they reach 8th grade, it is nice to give them a little send-off gift.
This could be something that the students decide on and then create.
My Project
As a way of enticing students to do their best, having an incentive if they get on the honor rolls is a great idea. Students who do earn honors will be able to receive items such as a shirt or cup to show off their hard work; something that shows "Yes I did it."
We did great and we got the SWAG to show it.
Not only will students who receive academic honors benefit from this project, but this would also allow seniors to take part in making senior graduation gifts.
In order to get these items, I can have a group of students make them. Students will choose the design or sayings to put on the swag and print out various color vintage with the circuit maker. The tools and mat would help the students take the vinyl cutouts off and apply them to the swag.
