Our classroom is an active and happening place.
We love to move and explore. Our mission is to become lifelong learners. My students are four and five years old, and they are just beginning to explore the world they live in. Many of my students receive free or reduced-price lunch.
Many of our students face a lot of adversity in their lives, but they still come to school each day, ready to work hard! To them, school is a place where they feel safe, loved, and valued. Motivating my students to read and learn is crucial, particularly with the higher demands of the new standards.
My Project
My students learn through play. It is my job to ensure that their day is filled with real-life learning experiences.
My students love the dramatic play area.
During our farm unit, I would like to use these materials to set up a farmers' market. Students would be able to purchase fruits and vegetables. Students could go shopping, exchange money and learn about money values.
Students would love to use items in the Let’s Pretend Restaurant Writing Box, in our kitchen area, to make a pretend restaurant. I know students would love having these items in our classroom and it will make them become financial literate from a young age.
