My school is located in an urban school district and serves over 2500 students. I teach courses in United States History, Psychology and Child Development for high school students interested in careers working with children.

Almost all college and scholarship applications are now online. My students are always in my room asking me questions about their college applications and about their FAFSA, the form they need to complete for federal financial aid. Many of my student's parents are not native English speakers and it makes it difficult for them to help their child at home.

Having a computer in the classroom for students to use, will allow them to sign onto the websites and allow me to help them complete their applications. During financial aid time, my students come in with their parent's taxes and ask me to help them with their FAFSA. They also come in with their own W2 forms and need help filing their own taxes! A classroom computer will provide them with a one-stop solution, a place for them to learn and a place for them to get assistance with their college and career planning.

You will make it possible for all students to get assistance with their college applications, financial aid and tax returns. I can also hook the computer up to an LCD projector and show an entire class how to file their taxes or complete an application for college or for employment.
