This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am a kindergarten teacher at a Title I school in a low-income, high-poverty school district where 99% of our students receive free or reduced-price lunch.
These students overcome adversity every day when they simply walk through the classroom door.
My students are faced with many challenges both in and out of the classroom, and yet, they are always excited to come to school each morning and are willing and ready to learn. I love taking any opportunity to give my students what will help them be prepared and ready for the future.
I want to see my students reach their fullest potential.
They react positively whenever they are rewarded for behavior and for working so hard. Students are given plastic monetary coins to collect and use for the class incentive store. Having these large drawing boards will play a great role in motivating them to do their best, and at the same time, they are learning about collecting and saving money as well as economics and financial literacy.
