My Project
I teach instrumental music at a middle school in Maryland. The program started last year, and we are looking to build on what we have already accomplished last year.
My students are some of the best students you could ask for.
They are all members of the middle school band and orchestra program and love what they do. Most of them qualify for free or reduced-price lunches.
This is a critical time in their lives, and I want to ensure they have everything they need to succeed. They are thrilled to come to class with their instrument in hand. It takes me back to when I was their age and felt those same feelings the first time I picked up my trumpet.
I am asking for shoulder rests and stoppers for better posture. I took a string course over the summer and learned a lot. I am really excited to get back to my students and share what I learned with them. Both of these resources enable string players to play in a better playing position. I want to make sure that we hit the ground running once school resumes.
