My students need new shoulder pads for safety reasons. We do not have very much money to spend on equipment, and this would help us greatly.

My Students

We are a rural high school that receives no money from the county to run our athletic program. They pay coaches supplements and for the fuel for buses but everything else, officials, equipment, etc. comes from gate receipts. This makes it difficult to provide all the equipment we would like our players to have.

During the economic downturn, we lost most of the manufacturing jobs we had in textiles and our families are hurting.

They struggle to provide for their kids on a daily basis. Our farming has been based on tobacco, and that too has declined.

We want to be able to provide our players with quality equipment that they can be proud of and use with pride.

My Project

This project will provide quality equipment and safety for our players in practice and in games. We can not buy new shoulder pads very often. In fact, it has been 4 years since we were able to purchase any. That means our guys are playing in pads that are often 10 years old or older. We have them reconditioned, but they are still not what we would like them to have.

These shoulder pads would instill a sense of pride in our kids and make them safer.

They will feel good about wearing them, and they will be safer on the field.
