My 21st-century learners manifest learning styles that are different from how I learned as a student and what type of classroom setting I was exposed to many moons ago. Despite the various environmental, economic and social challenges my students are exposed to, they love to do hands-on activities and enjoy learning outside the four corners of the classroom and science lab.
My kids are very diverse, and the educational pedagogy of "one strategy fits all" is a passe.
This reality inspires me to plan outside the box to address students' learning styles and promote equity. I would like to focus on classroom setup.
The mobile adjustable sit-to-stand laptop cart will provide a flexible learning environment for students who cannot sit longer in a traditional student chair. Research suggests that sitting for an extended period leads to health problems. Studies also say that a flexible classroom promotes student engagement, helps them learn holistically, and cultivates 21st-century skills.
Furthermore, the students will be using the carts for their individual and group presentations, thus, making them look professional. They will also use the cart during outdoor activities. The materials you will be funding will help me enhance the fun, creative, and outside-the-box science learning.
