My Project

Over the course of the year, my students have been enjoying the books we have added to our classroom library. However, their ability to stay engaged with longer stories is a true test of their reading stamina. That is where this specific project comes in.

Short stories offer students the chance to read a story from beginning to end and still enjoy it.

Short stories are a chance for challenged readers to feel accomplished when they finish a story and can remember the content. For my students, this is a MUST in the long run if I want them to become better readers.

By supplying us with short stories that will engage the class, you are supporting the chance for each of my students to build their reading skills in comprehension, reading stamina, fluency, and so many more awesome abilities. Just because they can't sit for long periods of time and focus on a book doesn't mean they shouldn't be reading books. These books will help them in this goal.
