My students are fourth graders who need a little bit of everything. They enjoying being up and around the class and learning in different areas. They also enjoy reading content that is relevant to their lives and what they are going through.
My classroom has children of ALL backgrounds.
About a fourth of my classroom did not have any school supplies the first weeks of school. Our school is about half free/reduced lunch, and we have students constantly moving in and out of our school. We have a very diverse student population who brings a wide variety of reading levels and interests into the classroom.
My project is asking for a set of Scholastic Storyworks magazine so I can engage my students who are able to read on and above grade-level.
These students are reading chapter books, so when I read with them in small personalized groups, I would love to have a short, engaging, and rigorous text for them to read.
I’ve also added a set of markers so that all of my students are able to express their creativity and show their learning in a bright and colorful way! We currently have crayons and colored pencils, but with this class set of markers all students would be able to use and share them!
