This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We are fortunate to have a clothing cabinet in our school for any type of accidents that occur throughout the school day. We know our families are struggling and can't always get out of work to bring extra clothing and we want kids to be clean, preserve self-dignity, and keep the kids in school, learning.
We have gone through all of our size 6, 7, and 8 pants for boys and girls already, and the year is only half over.
We desperately need a re-stock! This will help some of our youngest students from PreK through 2nd grade remain in school to learn when they have accidents, whether it be spilled milk/juice/water from breakfast and lunch, bathroom accidents, or illness-related accidents. We, as a school, do not want kids to have to remain in soiled clothing any longer than they have to.
