Short and Sweet Strategies for Phonics and Reading

My Students

Our tiny, rural, Title I school is located in Central New York. My students come from a very tight-knit community, in which most of the families have lived for generations. Despite our small size, we have a diverse population and students come from all different backgrounds and experiences.

I am a career changer who is very excited to be embarking on my very first year of teaching!

It is so important to me to able to provide engaging experiences for my 18 first graders. My students have a true love of learning. I sincerely appreciate your consideration in supporting my students and our classroom. Thank you so much!

My Project

These materials are designed to supplement phonics and guided reading instruction. The bite sized phonics and grammar materials will allow me to include fun and engaging mini lessons any time of day. The phonics and leveled reading passages will allow me to include quick comprehension activities during our busy ELA block, and the decoding strategies task cards will be a wonderful addition to guided reading groups by providing us with warm ups that can be individualized to my students.

Our ELA block is jam packed with instruction and practice, these materials will offer an opportunity to enhance that block, and to provide "bite sized" snippets of additional instruction and practice throughout our day.

These materials are a mix of digital, interactive, hands-on, and paper, and will provide so many ways to reach all of my different learners. Thank you so very much for your consideration in supporting our classroom!
