My Students

I teach 3rd Grade ELA in LA to between 70-75 students a year. I have the most eager, rambunctious, and hilarious students ever. There's not a day that goes by when I don't get a good laugh in. My students are mostly low income and are very diverse. Although they have being battling educational gaps due Covid-19, and now the aftermath of Hurricane Ida, they have been extremely resilient and eager to soak up every ounce of learning they can get.

My Project

My classroom is in need of supplies to keep us safe and our classroom clean and germ free. Cold and Flu season is upon us, in addition to covid, and it is one of my goals to make sure we have the supplies necessary to stay safe. My school is a Title I school, which means its a low income area. I do not want parents having the added stress of returning to school and worrying if their kids are safe, or if their tables are clean and sanitized. These supplies would be so important to helping them feel comfortable.

Keeping our faces covered and sanitizing our areas is super important, now more than ever.

By getting these much needed supplies, my class can continue to follow all steps necessary to protect themselves from germs.

As of right now New Orleans is still requiring face masks in K-12 schools, so if a kid doesn't have one, or if their mask breaks or gets dirty, it's awesome to have backups. Thank you for helping us stay safe!
