Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are a Title 1 school who educate around 750 students. About 93% of our students are considered low income and currently have 53 children who are considered homeless . As a Wraparound Specialist I am tasked with making sure I have access to all needs that my students may require. My students are smart, caring and full of spunky personalities. They show up eager to learn and always find a way to put a smile on my face .

Many of my kiddos live in apartment communities that are less than two miles from our school , which means no school transportation is provided by the district .

Our parents walk their kids to school or sometimes students walk alone to and from school (most parents work) .

I try to focus our students on what they have not what they lack . I assure them that they are loved, appreciated and welcomed in our school EVERY DAY , no matter what is happening at home.

My Project

Help me provide Shoes That Fit to some of of our most committed students . I have many students who walk to and from school every day and their shoes show it. I try my best to help them patch up and clean up what they have but have some scholars who's families cannot afford new shoes.

Your donation will not only provide shoes ; it will Raise Self-Esteem, Motivate students to attend school and put SMILES on some of our best and brightest students.

Providing these shoes will allow students to focus on learning and doing their best at school instead of trying to walk to school with shoes that slow them down.
