This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach in a small rural school, with students from grades 6-12, who face challenges every single day. We want students to come to school every day ready to learn and be successful, but we lack some resources for our students to use daily.
We have a diverse group of students who are creative, intelligent, and passionate.
Our school is a rural, low-income school. Our students work hard every day to do their best to make positive changes in their lives.
My Project
We have done wonderful things for our students. One project that has become especially important is our comfort closet. We have shoes and we are asking for more shoes for our female students. This project is asking for new tennis shoes for our girls who need them. We are also asking for pants for the girls to wear.
Comfort equals confidence.
We love being able to provide comfort to our students. This project is also asking for snacks for our students to be able to take home. We are also in need of drawstring bags to provide privacy for our students.
