This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students love coming to school. Having said that, some of them are worried about meeting their basic needs. When you are worried about your clothes and shoes, it can be difficult to focus on school. I am asking for different-sized uniform shirts to help my students have access to these basic everyday needs. At our school, we have a clothing closet where students can go to get shirts, pants, and shoes. I am asking for uniform shirts in different sizes to stock the closet.
We are currently out of uniform shirts, and there are students who need new uniform shirts because the shirt they have is not uniform or does not fit!
By having access to these supplies, my students will be able to focus on their schoolwork. It will build their confidence in themselves, which will transfer to others! Having clothing available to students will reduce some of the stress and embarrassment they feel when they don't have these items.
