My Project

We are requesting the funds to purchase an embroidery machine and the corresponding thread. We are working towards creating a makerspace where students can learn a wide range of manufacturing skills. Not only will they learn the skills, they will also be able to create and design their own clothing using elements of computer design.

Students will be able to not only fund raise but design polos and other articles of clothing for our different sports teams and clubs.

This will also enable us to do our own inhouse printing for kids who cannot afford to purchase uniforms and things of that nature.

The students here at WSMS are a severely underserved population. Our students are basically inner city kids with limited opportunities. By exposing them to creative design we not only unlock their creative potential, but also expose them to marketing and business aspects when it comes selling their designs.

We are lucky enough to have been granted a sublimation printer and have a cricut and heat press. The embroidery machine will help us to round out our blooseming idea lab.
