My Students

The students in my classroom come from a community that seeks academic rigor and upholds a well-rounded scholar. Do you want to help students learn? Do you want to invest in the future generation that will lead this nation?

The students in my classroom balance both their academics and also their extra-curricular activities at the young age of 7 or 8.

They participate in organized sports, practice fine arts, learn to apply robotics, and practice community service by joining girl/boy scouts while also squeezing in play dates with their peers. They are eager to play, to learn and to grow!

My Project

Please help my students shine through the use of chromebooks. We are in need of chromebooks to adventure into second grade and to prepare for third grade. The chromebooks will be a tool for students to have the exposure and experience with technology, especially in a tech savvy society.

Donations for this project will support students in their daily participation with reading, writing, and mathematics.

The use of chromebooks will be integrated with instruction. For example, during reading groups, some students can use the classroom iPads while other students can use the chromebooks and my group will work in small strategic groups. Each child can rotate throughout the week to listen to reading, practice their reading comprehension and to practice typing and logging in, features unique to the chromebook. Additionally, the chromebooks will be a great tool for students to research their writing projects throughout the school year and to publish their work like a professional writer! This will allow students a more authentic writing experience as they can feel the keyboard beneath their finger tips and hear the clicking of each button as they type. Imagine the gratification of that experience; how I would love to see their eyes sparkle!

Moreover, the portability of chromebooks will allow students the flexibility to transport the computers to areas in the classroom best suited for their learning. This will provide students the experience to explore their learning styles while also learning to self-regulate in the classroom. The students will learn to navigate various types of technology through this experience while also learning how to manage technology tools in a systematic way. Please join us in this endeavor!
