Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds and cultural backgrounds! Our school is also one of the most ethnically diverse schools in Las Vegas. Students speak a multitude of languages including English, Spanish, Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Mandarin, Cantonese, and Arabic.
Our classrooms focus on problem-solving and strategic thinking through a variety of learning modalities.
Our students love to learn through hands-on opportunities that develop their learning and language skills.
The students at my school are brilliant and highly motivated!
My Project
Due to the pandemic, many of my students missed their opportunity to develop academic and social skills in preschool that are necessary for kindergarten.
In Kindergarten, children learn through play.
By providing a light table and light table accessories, my students will have the opportunity to enhance their literacy, math, and writing skills in a fun and playful way. They will use the light table to learn letter recognition, name writing, sorting skills, counting skills, and much more. The glow of the light table will illuminate the colors of the visuals, making them appear more appealing for learning. These materials will provide hands-on learning approach for content standards in math, language arts, and social studies.
The possibilities for playing and learning with a light table in a kindergarten classroom are endless!
