Help me give my students beanbag chairs, vocabulary folder games, bulletin board paper, and other materials to enjoy their academic journey and environment, explore their abilities, discover their gifts and talents, and shine bright like the diamonds they are. Diamonds are rocks that endured under pressure.

My Project

I want to thank you all in advance. The academic success of students is often impacted by the trauma that they experience. Many of our students do not know how to process their emotions and experiences in a healthy way.

As an educator, I have always believed in creating safe, comfortable spaces in the classroom where students can go to process their emotions so that they can focus on their academics without distraction.

The bean bag chairs will allow students in my grade level to have a healthy safe space to visit. In this space, students will be able to use their social emotional learning to process their feelings, do warm ups, bring themselves to a calm place, develop a clear mind, and become ready to learn.

My bulletin board paper will be used to create a space where student achievement can be highlighted and students can be encouraged to strive for greater excellence.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
