Shhh...It's a Secret! Advanced Phonics for Young Learners!
Help me give my students a head start to a strong foundation in reading, learning advances phonics skills in a fun and engaging way no matter their grade.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a team lead for our early elementary teachers, I have the exciting responsibility of leading professional development for K-2 educators. One of my key goals is to provide teachers with effective, research-based strategies to strengthen early literacy instruction. To achieve this, I will be training our teachers on The Secret Stories: Cracking the Reading Code, a powerful phonics program that accelerates reading success by giving students meaningful, brain-friendly explanations for letter-sound relationships. To ensure they can implement what they learn immediately, I want to equip each K-2 teacher with a Secret Stories Classroom Kit at the start of the year.
Our students are eager, curious learners who thrive when given engaging and accessible learning tools.
Many struggle with traditional phonics instruction, which often relies on memorization rather than meaningful connections. What makes them special is their resilience, determination, and joy for learning. Secret Stories transforms phonics into an exciting, discovery-based experience, helping students decode words with confidence and fluency. By training our teachers in this method and providing them with the necessary materials, we can create a consistent and effective approach to phonics instruction across all K-2 classrooms.
With your support, we can provide 9 teachers (3 per grade: K, 1st, and 2nd) with Secret Stories Kits, ensuring they have everything they need to start using this innovative program right away. Your generosity will make a lasting impact on our students' literacy success, helping them build strong reading foundations, close learning gaps, and develop confidence in their abilities. Thank you for believing in the power of early literacy and supporting our students and teachers!
