This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are from primarily Spanish speaking, low income families and need help with many skills. They are five years old and lack social skills which leads to their low academic skills. Their imaginations are not developed and they need creative things to broaden it as well. I want them to gain reading and writing skills before they leave kindergarten, to make them successful in years to come. Secret Stories Program is a great resource for my students to use their imagination and connect with stories while looking at the letters. It has great stories, visuals, and songs to connect with young children. Many classrooms have had great success with learning to read and write using this program.
