Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have an energetic group of students who get to school every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day. I teach at a Title I school where the majority of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
My students are eager to learn and try their best.
I am hoping to provide my students with what they need most! I want to make sure my students have equal access to everything they need to be successful!
My Project
Graphic novels are my secret weapon to get any kid reading. My recent discovery is that there are also multicultural, diversity and inclusive graphic novels that bring kids into different perspectives like what it’s like to have hearing loss or go through a civil war. Graphic novels also let us experience new worlds, both present and past.
My project is asking for graphic novels that will get my students engaged!
These books will not only get them engaged but they will teach them about diversity, different perspectives and social justice issues. My goal is that by reading these books they will learn to be empathetic and accepting of everyone they meet and all of this will be done as the are reading!
