My Students

I work in a low-income school district in Washington state where 100% of my students receive free meals at school

My students are migrant learners who live on a reservation. They are eager to learn despite the odds they have against them in their lives. At our school, we do everything we can to help them be college and career ready. This includes being people who are hard workers and excited to learn.

My Project

Our school is requiring us teachers to use an online Reading Program called iReady. I loved using this program in my classroom so far, and can see how it will help all my students grow this year. However, I only have 2 pairs of headphones that are available for my students. This makes it hard for all my students to use the program every day.

These headphones will improve my classroom environment and our small group learning communities.

This online reading program is suppose to be used daily by our students but that is very challenging to do when we don't have enough headphones for our class to use. I would love these headphones to be able to help our Kindergartners learn and succeed on their reading skills.
