it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The Oneofics 10X10 FT Pop Up Canopy Tents will provide a versatile and comfortable outdoor space for our school to host a wide range of activities that enhance student learning and engagement. These tents will allow us to take classroom lessons outside, creating an engaging, hands-on learning environment. Whether it's a STEAM investigation, reading under the trees, or a nature walk, students will have the opportunity to learn in fresh air, which has been shown to improve focus and creativity. The tents will make it easier to hold events like family picnics, parent-teacher conferences, and community-building activities. This not only boosts family involvement but also creates a collaborative learning environment where parents can see firsthand how their children are learning and growing.
Our primary goal is to enhance student learning by creating more opportunities for outdoor, experiential education and to strengthen family and community involvement in the school.
By taking lessons and activities outdoors, we aim to foster a deeper connection to learning. The physical space of the canopies will allow students to interact with nature, make real-world connections to what they’re learning, and engage in collaborative projects that are more hands-on and impactful. We want to break down barriers to family involvement. With a reliable, weatherproof outdoor space, we can invite more parents and guardians to attend events, fostering stronger relationships between families and the school. Our goal is to increase the attendance at family nights, cultural events, and academic showcases. Our students are unique because they come from a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences. Many are English Language Learners (ELL), and the challenges they face from language barriers to adjusting to a new culture make their educational journey especially meaningful. They are incredibly resilient, curious, and eager to learn in creative ways.
